Sep 18th, 2024 - New discussions are underway in Bozeman regarding impact fees for developers, particularly focusing on parking and transportation. Last week, the Community Development Board recommended that the City Commission explore adding an impact fee specifically for parking. 24474 - Demolition of the existing structure, new construction of a four-story multi-use building with commercial space
24481 - Demolition of the existing single-family residence on the lot and subsequent development of a new single-family residence with a detached 2-car Garage/ADU
24492 - Annexation request for 10ac parcel adjacent to the city
24493 - This project is a 4 story multifamily residential building with 91residential units. The ground floor features the residential building lobby, indoor bike parking, fitness, an outdoor porch, and a dog run

3 GIANT septic tanks parked North of Manhattan. Each tank holds 20,000 gallons. Not sure what the scope of the project is.

Laurel BNSF Train Yard
Is the largest and busiest rail yard in Montana. Montana Rail Link has owned the yard from 1987 to 2024. Burlington Northern Railroad operated it from 1970-1987, and Northern Pacific ran it prior to that, with the first recorded train stopping in Laurel in 1882. - City of Laurel History page

September 18, 2024 - In light of the progress on inflation and the balance of risks, the Committee decided to lower the target range for the federal funds rate by 1/2 percentage point. - Federal Reserve Statement. It will be interesting to see if this half a percentage re kindles Montana home sales and quickens time on market.

Canola futures climbed above CAD 560 per ton, rebounding from a near four-year low of CAD 542
Sugar futures surged to $22.5 per pound. Up 19.43% last week.
Sunflower Oil climbed 15.40% last week up over 27% over the last 30 days.

History of the week
The Northern Pacific Railroad steamed through the Yellowstone Basin in 1883, passing the small agricultural community of Carlton. The town was renamed Laurel, and a post office opened there in 1886. - Historic Montana
